THE ROBIN HOOD FESTIVAL

The Robin Hood Festival is held each year at the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre just outside Edwinstowe Village. 

A week long celebration of the legend of Robin Hood managed by Nottinghamshire County Council it features entertainment for all the family.

The 2010 Robin Hood Festival will take place over the week from Monday August 2nd until Sunday August 8th.

General admission is free. There is a car parking charge and selected shows and activities will incur a small charge.

Highlights include...

The Opening Ceremony 11am on Monday

 Silver Arrow Challenge (archery tournament entry by draw upon purchase of programme, archers must be over 8 years old) 4pm on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday

On The Trail of Robin Hood (solve the clues to find Robin Hood, trail leaflet costs £2) 2pm on Tuesday

Falconry Display 12 noon & 2pm on Wednesday and 12 noon and 2.15pm on Sunday

Jousting Tournament 2.45pm on Wednesday, 2.30pm on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday

The Sheriff's Treasure Hunt (find the treasure before the Sheriff & his men, leaflet costs £2) 2pm on Thursday

Twilight Tales (story walk from Past Imagined & Trevor James the Minstrel.  Three quarters of a mile distance, unsuitable for under 7s, no dogs. Tickets £4, book in advance at the Visitor Information point or by calling 01623823202) 8pm on Thursday

Hunt The Outlaw (buy a permit from the Sheriff to track down Robin Hood, £2 for a permit, certificate for successful hunters) 2.30pm on Friday

An Evening of Medieval Merriment (pre-book at Visitor Information or by calling 01623823202 £6 adults, £3 children, family group of 2 adults and 2 children £15) 7.30pm - 10pm on Saturday
