PLOT OUTLINE: Robin Hood gathers his men in Sherwood to tell them they may be needed as the Regent seeks to overturn the Magna Carta. When he speaks against this at court he is banished. The Regent suspects the Queens sympathy with outlaws and the Queen and Lady Catherine seek Robin Hood’s help to protect the young King. They meet Robert in the forest who saves them from arrest and takes them to a safe cottage. Alan A Dale is sent to the castle to watch the King as he can gain entrance through his status as a minstrel. The Regent tries to get the King to abdicate by signing a proclamation but he refuses to sign without his mothers advice and the Regent plots murder, Alan A Dale overhears and calls for Robin Hood’s men. Robert creates a plan to enter as a Prioress and her fellow travellers. Guards visiting a tavern where the real Prioress is lodging discover they are imposters and return to raise the alarm. Robert and Lady Catherine are captured and Robert claims the nobleman's right to trail by combat. The Regent keeps food and water from him to weaken his chances but Lady Catherine manages to pass food through the windows of their cells. Robert wins the fight and all is well. The King knights him Sir Robert, Earl of .. and commands Lady Catherine marry him which they gladly obey.
